DSTi acquires Bremer software

4 July 2003

As many of you know, I spent a number of years working at Bremer Associates, Inc. in the greater Boston area.  The last few years there were spent raising VC funds, selling our data integration software and trying to find a large software vendor to acquire the company.  It was partially due to frustration with our lack of progress and success that I decided to return to school in 2002 to do my MBA. On June 16, 2003, DST International, a subsidiary of DST Systems, Inc. and maker of investment management and work management software solutions, acquired the software products of Bremer.

My best wishes to David Gwyr, Joost Verhofstad, Eugene Zuser, and all my former colleagues who have now joined DSTi's office in downtown Boston and will work towards integrating the software with DSTi's offerings and marketing it to the financial services community.  Although we weren't able to achieve our goals while I was there, I am tremendously happy that Bremer's industry-leading MetaStreamer software (now renamed HiWay by DSTi) will continue to evolve and provide integration services for some of the world's largest financial services companies.

For more information, see DST's press release and the new HiWay page on DSTi's site.
